Louise Martin

Dr. Louise Martin is a Principal Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Worcester, based in the School of Sport and Exercise Science. Her work focuses on enhancing employability among sport and exercise students, integrating problem-based learning methodologies into teaching. She holds a PhD from the University of Worcester (2013), an MSc from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (2002), and a BSc from Brighton Polytechnic (1992).

Her research interests include student employability, particularly through projects like the SAPS ‘Adventures in Employability: A Student Anthology,’ which uses narrative methodologies to document alumni career journeys. She is committed to interactive teaching approaches that develop research methods, employability skills, and physiology knowledge in students. Her contributions to pedagogy earned her a University Teaching Fellowship in 2006.

Louise’s expertise spans sport science education, with a focus on bridging academic theory and practical career readiness. Her teaching emphasizes critical thinking and real-world applications, reflecting her dedication to student success.
