Louise Hunter is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology & Gastroenterology at the University of Manchester. She holds a Wellcome Trust Early Career Award (2023-) and an honorary consultant role at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Her research focuses on nuclear receptors, circadian clocks, and metabolic regulation in adipose and liver tissues. She completed her PhD at the University of Manchester (2019) and previously held an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship (2016).

Research interests include the role of core clock proteins like NR1D1 in obesity-related adipocyte dysfunction. She leads projects in the Centre for Biological Timing and collaborates internationally on genomic and biochemical studies. Notable awards include the AMS Starter Grant (2021) and the Peter Mount Award (2015).
