Dr. Louise Forde is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Brunel Law School, part of the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences at Brunel University London. She joined Brunel in September 2020, after serving as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at University College Cork and a visiting lecturer at Leiden Law School.

Louise's research focuses on youth justice and international children's rights law, particularly the implementation of the UNCRC in domestic legal frameworks. She explores children's participation in justice systems and their right to access cultural life and the arts. Her recent projects include grants from the Brunel Research Initiative & Enterprise Fund and the Policing Authority.
Key publications include her 2023 book Children in Conflict with the Law: Rights, Research and Progressive Youth Justice and articles in Youth Justice: An International Journal, Criminology and Criminal Justice, and the Howard Journal of Criminal Justice. She is an editorial board member for Youth Justice and contributes to international bodies like the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of their Liberty.
