Louise Fawcett is Professor of International Relations and Fellow of St Catherine’s College at the University of Oxford, where she has been since 1995. She served as Head of the Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR) from 2017–2020 and currently directs the Oxford Martin School’s Changing Global Order Programme.

Research Focus: Comparative regionalism, sovereignty in the Global South, and international relations of the Middle East. Her work bridges theoretical and empirical analysis, examining regional integration, power dynamics, and multilateralism.
Publication Trends: Recent works analyze evolving regional orders in the Middle East, US foreign policy toward Iran, global health governance, and historical lessons from Latin America/India. She emphasizes sovereignty challenges, interregionalism, and post-conflict regional architecture.
