Louise Claire Wagner is a PhD Candidate in Urban Studies at Université Paris Nanterre and an associate researcher with the FFJ Theme 4: Rethinking Global Cities. She is affiliated with the Institute of Global Concern at Sophia University, Tokyo. Her research focuses on urban theory, metropolises, and populations in global cities, particularly examining the impacts of mega-events like the Olympic Games. She holds a Bachelor's in Social Sciences from the University of Paris Descartes and a Master's in Urban Studies from Université Paris Nanterre.
Her current thesis analyzes the Tokyo 2020 Olympics' postponement and compares it with Paris' 2024 preparations. She also explores urban landscapes through photography, exhibiting works on Tokyo and collaborating with the collective TOKYO-GA/TOKYO CURIOSITY. Her interdisciplinary approach merges scientific theory and art, emphasizing multi-sensory urban exploration.
Awarded a nomination for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award (2020), her work bridges academic research and artistic expression. She contributes to the Olympic Games and Global Cities (OGGC) project, comparing urban strategies of global cities hosting the Olympics.
