Louisa Evans is a social scientist and Research Fellow in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences Geography at the University of Exeter, UK. She previously served as a postdoctoral fellow at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies (2010–2022), headquartered at James Cook University, Australia. Her work focuses on governance of marine social-ecological systems, climate change adaptation, and resilience theory in developing countries.
Education:
- PhD in Institutional Analysis & Political Ecology (University of East Anglia, UK)
- Postdoctoral Research at the WorldFish Center (Malaysia)
Research Interests: Louisa explores governance legitimacy, knowledge integration, and complexity in marine systems, particularly in Kenya, Solomon Islands, Tanzania, and Australia. Her work bridges political ecology and resilience theory to address equitable climate adaptation strategies for coastal communities.
