Louis Hajosy is a Part-Time Faculty member in the Music Department at the University of North Georgia (UNG), where he has taught since 2003. He specializes in Musicology and teaches core undergraduate courses including Music Appreciation (MUSC 1100) and American Music (MUSC 1300).
His academic credentials include:
- Bachelor of Music from the University of Miami (FL)
- Master of Arts in Musicology from the University of Georgia
He is currently ABD (All But Dissertation) in a doctorate in Musicology at the University of Georgia, having been admitted to candidacy. At UGA, he served as Instructor of Record for History of Popular Music (MUSI 2040) for three semesters.
Hajosy's research focuses on Musicology with specialized expertise in American Music and Popular Music traditions. His scholarly work is enhanced by extensive professional experience in the music industry, creating a unique practitioner-academic perspective. He has presented at two American Musicological Society conferences and co-authored the successful 2005 proposal that established UNG's American Music course.
