Lotte Helmark

Lotte Helmark is a Research Fellow (Postdoc) at the Department of Psychology, University of Southern Denmark, affiliated with the Health and Cognitive Psychology VIP and INSIDE research units. Her work focuses on psychological interventions for cardiac patients, particularly those with ischemic heart disease and comorbid mental health conditions.

Research Interests:
Helmark's primary research explores psychological aspects of cardiovascular diseases, with emphasis on:

• Development of digital psychological interventions
• Cardiac rehabilitation and mental health integration
• Anxiety/depression management in heart patients
• Qualitative studies of patient experiences
• Health service delivery models in cardiology

Her recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on developing and evaluating internet-based psychological interventions for cardiac populations, with particular attention to user-centered design, feasibility testing, and addressing comorbid mental health conditions in ischemic heart disease and atrial fibrillation patients.
