Lorraine Walker is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Monash University, affiliated with the Victorian Heart Institute (VHI). Her research focuses on interprofessional education, clinical practice improvement, and simulation-based education. She has led multiple projects addressing nursing student performance, feedback cycles in healthcare education, and culturally diverse communication skills.
Her work contributes to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to quality education and good health. Key research outputs include studies on nursing assessment tasks, collaborative practice readiness, and patient-centered care strategies. She has received notable awards including the Monash Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Award (2016) and the Interprofessional Global Award (2023).
Dr. Walker has supervised a Master's student (Verity Mak) and actively participates in academic activities such as peer reviewing for Nurse Education Today and organizing medical education conferences.
