Dr. Lorraine M. Graves is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at North Carolina Central University (NCCU), where she has taught full-time since 2008 in both MSW and BSW programs. Her expertise centers on research methods and evaluation in social work education.

Her research examines mental health disparities in access and quality of care, faith-based interventions, integrative health approaches, spirituality's role in social work practice, and experiential learning methodologies. This work addresses systemic inequities while integrating spiritual dimensions into therapeutic frameworks.
Dr. Graves previously served six years as Field Education Director and teaches courses including Applied Research in Social Work, Evaluation in Social Work Practice, and Research Methods. She mentors students toward ethical professional development and partners with community organizations to enhance services for low-income families.
She actively contributes to the Train, Respond and Connect Early project focused on early intervention strategies and community resource coordination for vulnerable populations.
