Kevin Daniels is an Associate Professor in the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Department at Morgan State University (MSU) and serves as the Episcopal Senior Pastor at St. Martin Church of Christ in Baltimore, MD. He is a licensed clinical social worker and counselor with certifications in Addictions Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard University. Dr. Daniels holds advanced degrees in Social Work (MSW), Higher Education (PhD), and Theology/Public Health (Doctorate Degree from United Theological Seminary).

Research & Professional Interests: Dr. Daniels focuses on cultural competence, mental health disparities in African American communities, family and child welfare, obesity prevention within the African American population, urban social work practices, trauma-informed interventions, and the intersection of spirituality with community health and wellbeing. His work integrates faith-based approaches into public health, policing, and social work education, particularly within historically Black institutions.
Notable Contributions: He developed six faith-based urban models, including Trauma-Informed Healing-Centered Approach (HUT) and Police and Community Engagement (PACE), and served as Principal Investigator for the Baltimore Consent Decree. Dr. Daniels also contributed to the "Elijah Cummings Healing Centered Act" and co-founded the Trauma-Informed Task Force in Baltimore.
Leadership & Community Roles: Appointed by Mayor Brandon Scott as President of the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, he also chairs the Civic Action Committee for the Minister’s Conference of Baltimore. Additional roles include membership on the Maryland Judicial Inquiry Board, leadership in the Minister’s Conference Empowerment Center CDC, and advocacy with Baltimoreans United in Leadership Development.
Scientific Awards: Dr. Daniels has received recognition for his work, including

Grants & Policy Development: He secured $1.2 million in funding for "The Cradle to Career" STEM centers and played a pivotal role in shaping legislation and policy related to mental health, trauma-informed practices, and community-police relations in Baltimore.
