Vincent Starnino, Ph.D., LCSW, is an Associate Professor at Indiana University School of Social Work (IUSSW). He holds a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Kansas (2011) and advanced degrees from McGill University (MSW, 2002; BSW, 1999) and Concordia University (BFA, 1998). His work integrates spirituality into mental health recovery, particularly for veterans with PTSD.

Research Interests: Dr. Starnino explores spirituality’s role in mental health recovery, focusing on military trauma, moral injury, and spiritual assessment. His work includes a Templeton Foundation-funded study on spiritually integrated interventions for veterans with PTSD (Search for Meaning). He also researched the Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) program and spiritual developmental processes in severe mental illness recovery.
Teaching: He teaches graduate courses in mental health assessment, individual/group therapy for mental health/addictions, and doctoral-level qualitative research methods.
