Dr. Sheila Dennis is a Senior Lecturer at the Indiana University School of Social Work (IUSSW) with over 20 years of experience in social work practice, policy, and research. She holds a PhD in Social Work from Indiana University (2018), an MSW from Indiana University (1999), and a BA from Anderson University (1992). Her work bridges human development sciences with PK-12 education to enhance student wellbeing.
Research Focus
Dr. Dennis's transdisciplinary research integrates:
- Educational neuroscience and trauma-responsive approaches in schools
- Anti-oppressive frameworks for behavioral health services
- Embodied Social Justice and modern attachment theory
- Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in social work education
