Dr. Lorraine Barron is a Lecturer in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice at the School of History, Law and Social Sciences, Bangor University. Her work focuses on restorative justice, sexual violence, gender-based violence, and sex offender management in domestic and international contexts.

- LLB and BA in Languages and Cultural Studies from the University of Limerick (2006-2011)
Her research explores balancing control and risk in post-release sex offender management with restorative justice principles, addressing cross-border offender challenges in the EU, and advocating for human rights-centered approaches. Recent publications highlight trends in offender participation, reintegration strategies, and legal ethics around chemical castration.
She actively supervises PhD projects on sexual violence responses, restorative justice applications, and community-based sex offender management, while participating in academic conferences and guest lecturing in forensic psychology programs.
