Lorna Hughes is a Professor in Digital Humanities at the School of Humanities, University of Glasgow. She has held significant academic roles globally, including Chair in Digital Humanities at the University of London's School of Advanced Study and joint appointments with the National Library of Wales and the University of Wales. Her work focuses on digital cultural heritage, methodology in humanities, and interdisciplinary applications of digital humanities.
- Education: MPhil in History and Computing (1991), MA(Hons) in Medieval and Modern History (1990), both from the University of Glasgow
She has developed and convened key courses such as Introduction to Digital Humanities (University of Glasgow), Museum Studies Dissertations (University of Glasgow), and Museums and Interactive Technologies (New York University). Her leadership extends to international organizations, including the EuroScience Board, Europeana Board of Directors, and the Association for Computers and the Humanities (ACH), where she served as President twice.
