Dr Lorna Fyfe is a Senior Lecturer at Queen Margaret University (QMU), specializing in the antimicrobial activity and immunomodulatory properties of honey. She holds a PhD in Biological Sciences and is a Fellow of both the Royal Society of Biology (FRSB) and the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her research explores honey's potential as a natural antimicrobial agent, focusing on its composition, efficacy against antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and synergies with other therapies.
Dr Fyfe's academic background includes a BSc from the University of Stirling and postgraduate qualifications in Medical Laboratory Sciences. Her career spans postdoctoral research and teaching roles, and she collaborates with institutions like the Hutton Research Institute. She is a member of QMU's Centre for Health, Activity, and Rehabilitation Research.
