Glyn Morris

Glyn Morris is a Lecturer in the Dietetics, Nutrition and Biological Sciences Division at Queen Margaret University, serving as the WISeR (Widening Student Participation and Retention) Coordinator for the School of Health Sciences. His roles include teaching and coordinating initiatives related to student retention and widening participation, aligned with QAA Enhancement Themes.

Education: BSc in Biomedical Sciences (Cardiff University), Masters in Tissue Engineering, and PhD in wound healing research. His research focuses on honey’s antimicrobial and immunomodulatory properties, molecular signaling in chronic wounds, and public health communication. He has also contributed to science communication through BBC Cymru and third-sector organizations.

Research interests include honey-based therapies, molecular biology, microbiology, and genetics. Awards include the 1st Prize Oral Presentation at CITER 2017 and 2nd Poster Presentation at ETRS 2017. He employs methods like microbial inhibition assays, ELISA, and biochemical assays in his work.

Teaching spans Genetics, Immunology, Molecular Biology, and Public Health Communication. He is pursuing a PgCert in Professional and Higher Education to enhance his pedagogical practices. Active in public engagement and widening participation, including roles with the Seren network in Wales.
