Lorie Hughes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Snow College, specializing in Mathematics Education. She holds an M.A. in Mathematics Education from Western Governors University (2012) and a B.S. in Secondary Education with a Mathematics emphasis from Southern Utah University (1997).

Her research interests focus on mathematics education, particularly on pedagogical strategies for algebra. She has taught College Algebra at Snow College since 2025 and has extensive experience in tutoring and teaching mathematics, having started her career as an adjunct instructor. Beyond academics, she enjoys rock tumbling, geology, hiking, fishing, and spending time with family through cooking, movies, and board games.
