Lori Wike serves as Adjunct Associate Professor of Bassoon at the University of Utah and Lecturer at Westminster College, while holding the position of Principal Bassoon with the Utah Symphony since 2005.
Her academic background includes a Master of Arts from the University of California, Irvine and a Bachelor of Music with Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied under John Hunt, Nancy Goeres, Mark Popkin, and Michele Grego.
As a performer, Ms. Wike specializes in orchestral and contemporary repertoire, maintaining active chamber music engagements through the Nova and Intermezzo Chamber Music series in Salt Lake City. She is a core member of the Three Fish and a Scorpion woodwind quartet and has performed with ensembles including the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble and Eastman Musica Nova.
Her professional trajectory encompasses former positions with the Louisville Orchestra and New World Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas, alongside performances with the Rochester Philharmonic, Utah Festival Opera, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, and multiple regional symphonies across the United States.
