Lori V. Quigley is a tenured full Professor and Department Chair of the leadership and policy doctoral program in the College of Education at Niagara University. She serves as an educational consultant and advisor to school districts and colleges/universities, specializing in curriculum development and social justice initiatives.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from St. Bonaventure University
- Master of Arts in Public Communication from Fordham University
- Ph.D. in Language, Learning, and Literacy from Fordham University
Dr. Quigley's research centers on multigenerational trauma, indigenous language reclamation, and culturally relevant pedagogy through an indigenous lens. Her work examines the historical and sociological impacts of Native American residential boarding schools, evidenced by her advisory role for the documentary "Unseen Tears" and publications on the Thomas Indian School and Seneca language curriculum development.
She has received numerous honors including the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Research and Scholarship, Hackman Residency Award, and Buffalo State President’s Award for Excellence in Equity and Campus Diversity. Additional recognitions feature the "Woman in Leadership" award from NYS Women, Inc., Community Leader Award from the National Federation of Just Communities, Business First Women of Influence award (2022), and #86 ranking on City & State’s 2023 Higher Education Power 100 list.
As an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation (wolf clan), Dr. Quigley serves as Ombudsperson for the National Indian Education Association, contributes to the WNY Alzheimer’s Association Board, and participates in Trailblazing Women of WNY. Her community service includes a U.S. Presidential appointment to the National Advisory Council on Indian Education and gubernatorial appointment to the NYS Minority Health Council.
