Lori Hausegger is a Professor of Political Science and Director of the Canadian Studies Program at Boise State University, where she has served since 2005. She also functions as the university's Pre-Law Advisor and serves as a manuscript reviewer for prominent political science journals including American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Canadian Journal of Political Science, and Journal of Politics.
Her research focuses on comparative judicial systems, with particular expertise in judicial selection processes, judicial decision-making, and court-Congress relations. Dr. Hausegger's work frequently examines both U.S. and Canadian contexts, making significant contributions to the understanding of judicial activism across different legal traditions.
Her recent scholarship has culminated in the 2024 publication Judicial Activism in Comparative Perspective, where she explores how courts exercise judicial review across different political systems. This work represents the culmination of her research trajectory examining how courts interact with other branches of government and shape public policy through legal interpretation.
