Lori C. Jordan

Lori C. Jordan, PhD, MD, is a Professor of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and serves as the Director of the Pediatric Stroke Program at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. She is a board-certified specialist in Child Neurology and Vascular Neurology, with a strong clinical and academic focus on pediatric stroke, cerebrovascular diseases, and neuroprotection in children.

Her research and clinical interests center on improving brain health in children, particularly those with chronic conditions such as Type 1 diabetes. She leads initiatives like the Stroke Prevention Program in Nigeria, highlighting her global health engagement and translational approach to pediatric neurovascular care.

Dr. Jordan completed her internship, residency, and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System, culminating in a Research Fellowship in 2007. She is actively involved in patient care, with consistently high patient satisfaction ratings reflecting her compassionate, thorough, and individualized approach.

She holds board certifications from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Child Neurology (2005) and Vascular Neurology (2011), underscoring her dual expertise in pediatric and vascular neurological disorders.
