Lori Ann Stephens is a Senior Lecturer and Graduate Instructor Supervisor at Southern Methodist University (SMU). She specializes in teaching composition, creative writing, and supervising the graduate-level Teaching Practicum for Discernment & Discourse. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in Aesthetic Studies (University of Texas at Dallas) and an M.A. in Literary Studies, both focusing on Southern literature and creative expression.

Her research interests center on the grotesque tradition in Southern literature, particularly maternal figures, and she actively writes literary fiction, thrillers, young adult, and middle-grade novels.
