Dr. Lorenzo Cherubini is a Full Professor and Hamilton Campus Coordinator at Brock University's Department of Educational Studies. His research focuses on teacher development, policy analysis, and Indigenous education, funded by SSHRC. He has published over 120 articles, 10 books, and edited 3 volumes, presenting globally. Key awards include the 2014 McGraw Hill Distinguished Scholar Award and 2019 Ontario Poetry Society’s Judge’s Choice Award for his poem 'De-Mentia'.
Research interests emphasize Indigenous education policy, teacher preparation, and equity. Recent work explores decolonization in education, post-pandemic school realities, and bi-epistemic research frameworks. His SSHRC grants total over $345,000, leading three major projects.
Professional affiliations include the Canadian Association for Studies in Indigenous Education and the American Educational Research Association. He directed the Tecumseh Centre for Aboriginal Research & Education, Ontario’s only multidisciplinary Indigenous-focused research entity. Advising contributions include roles in teacher induction programs and policy consultations.
