Longyuan Du is an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems at the School of Management, University of San Francisco. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto (2018), an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park (2012), and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Fudan University, Shanghai, China (2010). Prior to his academic career, he worked as an Operations Research Analyst at 4R Systems from 2012 to 2014.
His research focuses on the intersection of operations management and business analytics, particularly addressing operational challenges in emerging industries with significant social interactions. Key research areas include revenue management, pricing strategies, and the OM-Marketing interface. He explores topics such as crowdfunding dynamics, sales effort optimization, and policy analysis in transportation systems.
Dr. Du’s recent work includes studies on dynamic pricing models, contingent stimulus in crowdfunding platforms, and revenue management strategies in the sharing economy. His earlier research has addressed congestion mitigation through rationing and pricing, as well as economic models for vehicle ownership policies in China. These contributions highlight his expertise in applying analytical frameworks to real-world problems across multiple sectors.
