Lizzie Sykes is Senior Lecturer in Moving Image Arts and Activism at Bournemouth University, teaching in BA Film and MA Directing programs. She completed a PhD (2024) on site-centric screendance methodologies.
Research explores somatic approaches to film, participatory practices, and site-responsive performance. Collaborations include work with Surface Area Dance Theatre at Roche Court Sculpture Park and exhibitions at Dartington Hall. Creative practice investigates temporality, embodiment, and environmental engagement through moving image.
International presentations include Edinburgh Screen.dance Festival, Sadler's Wells, and Philadelphia's Trans(m)it Film Festival. Work integrates community engagement and interdisciplinary dialogue.
