Dr. Liz Wands-Murray is a Researcher at the School for Business and Society, University of York. With a 16-year background in Social Care, she specializes in service delivery, regulation, and accessibility. Her current role involves building research capacity in Adult Social Care via the Curiosity Partnership and acting as a Researcher-in-Residence for York & Doncaster Local Authorities. She completed her PhD in 2024 on inclusivity in social care for older LGBTQ+ adults, funded by NIHR.

Research interests focus on marginalized groups' social care needs, regulatory frameworks, and inclusive practices. She co-leads the Rainbow Alliance (UoY’s LGBT+ staff network) and serves on the Board of QueerArtsUK, promoting LGBTQ+ creative engagement.
Key projects include the Curiosity Partnership (research capacity-building in Local Authorities), DETERMIND, and a verbatim drama project sharing LGBTQ+ care experiences. She contributed to initiatives like Reverse Mentoring and Inclusive Recruitment in Health Sciences.
