Liz Johnson

Liz Johnson is an Affiliate Instructor in the Art and Design Department at Bradley University, part of the Slane College of Communications & Fine Arts. She teaches sculpture and contributes to campus art initiatives, including the Donovan Sculpture Garden. Her work blends fine arts and graphic design, with a focus on cast bronze and resin sculptures.

Liz Johnson's creative research centers on abstract, organic forms that reflect pivotal emotional moments in her life. Her work primarily explores sculpture in cast bronze and resin, integrating personal narrative with material expression. She also engages in graphic design, branding, and public art installations, often connecting artistic practice with community development and environmental themes.

Liz has not published scientific or academic articles, but her artistic works have been exhibited widely in Peoria and North Texas, including at the Peoria Food and Wine Festival, Studios on Sheridan, and the Contemporary Art Center. Her sculpture Prometheus I is permanently displayed in the Donovan Sculpture Garden and received public acclaim.

Liz Johnson has served as a graduate teaching assistant, instructing courses in rapid prototyping and advanced sculpture. She co-wrote a successful $30,000 grant for the Donovan Sculpture Garden and has collaborated on major public art projects, including the life-size statue of Major Robert Henry Lawrence Jr. at Bradley University. While no formal advisees are listed, she mentors through teaching and community involvement. Her professional experience includes five years as a Graphic Designer II at OSF HealthCare, where she produced digital and print media for community well-being.

Liz is actively involved in the Donovan Sculpture Garden committee as a volunteer and served as the lead designer for its brand identity and logo. She is also a member of the Texas Sculpture Association and participated in an iron pour at Texas Woman’s University. Her interdisciplinary practice bridges studio art, public engagement, and design innovation.
