Liz Howard is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Concordia University. A poet, editor, and teacher of mixed settler and Anishinaabe heritage, she explores Indigenous/Anticolonial Poetics, Science and Poetry, and Research Creation. Her work has received international recognition, including the 2016 Griffin Poetry Prize and shortlists for the Governor General’s Award and Trillium Poetry Prize.
- Education: MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph, BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Toronto.
Howard’s research integrates Anishinaabe cosmology and ecology with experimental poetic forms, interrogating language’s role in liberation. Her publications, including Infinite Citizen of the Shaking Tent and Letters in a Bruised Cosmos, often bridge scientific concepts with Indigenous epistemologies.
