Liz Camuti, PLA, serves as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture within Tulane University's School of Architecture. Her academic appointment focuses on design for climate adaptation, particularly reimagining engineered landscapes in the Gulf Coast region as sites of ecological cohabitation.
Camuti earned her Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia, where she received the ASLA Certificate of Honor and was named the 2018 National Graduate Olmsted Scholar by the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF). She also holds a Bachelor of Science in International Agricultural and Rural Development from Cornell University.
Her research interests center on visual storytelling and geospatial representation to communicate complex ecological, economic, and social systems to public audiences through engaged design processes. Camuti's expertise bridges professional practice and academic instruction, with particular emphasis on climate-resilient landscape strategies for coastal communities.
Her recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on ecological cohabitation, climate adaptation frameworks, and innovative approaches to landscape design in vulnerable coastal regions. These works reflect her commitment to translating complex environmental challenges into accessible design solutions.

Camuti brings significant professional experience to her academic role, having previously worked at SCAPE Landscape Architecture in New Orleans where she led interdisciplinary teams developing landscape strategies for public projects at multiple scales. Her teaching portfolio includes landscape architecture, urban design, and digital media courses previously taught at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and the University of Virginia.
Her current projects include the Financial District and Seaport Climate Resilience Master Plan, Louisiana's 2023 Coastal Master Plan, Fitzgerald Neighborhood Revitalization Plan, and Chattahoochee RiverLands initiative, reflecting her commitment to practical, community-centered design solutions.
