Liyun Yu is a Senior Researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), affiliated with The Danish Polymer Centre. Her work is centered on advanced polymer materials, particularly silicone-based elastomers and their functional applications.
Her research focuses on dielectric elastomers, polysiloxanes, and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), with applications in soft robotics, wearable devices, and smart materials. She explores the mechanical, thermal, and dielectric properties of these materials, aiming to enhance performance through novel curing methods, filler integration, and structural design.
The recent publications indicate a strong trend in developing fiber-format actuators, high-permittivity composites, and reversible curing processes. Her work bridges fundamental polymer science with engineering applications, particularly in soft actuators and transdermal drug delivery systems.
