Liyang Liu

Liyang Liu is a Research Professor at Chalmers University of Technology, leading the Lignin Science and Technology research group. His work focuses on transforming lignin and wood biomass into advanced sustainable materials such as polymeric foams, adhesives, nanocomposites, and 3D printing materials through greener and efficient methods. The group prioritizes understanding lignin structure-properties relationships using polymer science principles to design functional materials. They develop advanced characterization and processing techniques, while training researchers to contribute to Sweden's sustainable development goals. Liu is an active member of WWSC, TreeSearch, and ACS.
