Liya Escalera is a Lecturer on Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE), where she serves as Faculty Co-Chair for the Higher Education Concentration. With over 20 years of experience in higher education, she focuses on strategic initiatives to advance access, equity, and inclusive learning environments that honor diverse student and community strengths.

- Former Dean of Behavioral, Social Sciences and Global Learning at Bunker Hill Community College
Her research critically examines policies and pedagogies aligned with Latinx communities’ epistemologies and cultural wealth. She has authored work on equitable educational design and assessment frameworks.
