Her teaching philosophy integrates classical texts with contemporary reflection, such as analyzing The Odyssey’s lessons on leadership and The Iliad’s exploration of glory’s human cost. She encourages students to define personal success through empathy and service, as seen in her discussions of ancient medical ethics.
Outside academia, Walsh actively removes invasive species in her cooperative forest, fosters monarch butterflies, and participates in the Madison/Wisconsin 48-hour film project. She balances academic rigor with creative and community-focused endeavors.
