Magdalena Lisińska is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora, Faculty of International and Political Studies, Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Her research focuses on Argentine political history, foreign policy, the Malvinas/Falklands dispute, and socio-political polarization in Latin America. She has held visiting research positions at institutions in Argentina, Finland, the UK, and Germany, and has been a visiting professor at the University of Catania.

Her research interests include Argentine political history, foreign policy analysis, South Atlantic geopolitics, the Malvinas/Falklands conflict, political polarization, gender policies, and organized crime in Latin America. She applies constructivist and comparative approaches to understanding identity, ideology, and international relations in Latin America.
The most recent publications reflect a strong thematic focus on the Malvinas/Falklands dispute, Argentine political polarization (la grieta), presidential impeachments in South America, and gender policies. Her work spans political science, international relations, memory studies, and media analysis, with increasing attention to contemporary political figures like Javier Milei and societal movements like Ni Una Menos.

Lisińska has supervised and co-edited multiple research volumes and special journal issues on Latin America. She has led and participated in research projects funded by the National Science Centre, including on the ideologization of Argentine foreign policy during the 1976–1983 military dictatorship. She frequently presents at international conferences and contributes to public discourse through media appearances and expert debates. She is actively involved in academic networks such as the Society for Latin American Studies and the Polish International Studies Association. She serves as Dean's Proxy for Promotion and represents Jagiellonian University in the Una Europa Latin America Subgroup.
