Dr. Lisanne de Blok is an Assistant Professor at the Utrecht University School of Governance, specializing in democratic legitimacy, welfare state performance, and quantitative methodology. She holds roles as Managing Director of Research & Communication at the Netherlands Institute of Governance (NIG) and serves on the executive committee of Women Also Know Stuff. Her research examines policy feedback mechanisms in multilevel governance systems, particularly focusing on European democratic values, accountability, and political trust. She has held postdoctoral positions at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and conducted visiting research at institutions like the University of Oslo and Bocconi University. De Blok actively engages in public discourse through media contributions and has coordinated large-scale studies like the 2022 Dutch Local Elections research. Her work bridges academic rigor with practical policy insights, emphasizing institutional clarity and democratic accountability.
