Professor Lisa White serves as Professor of Modelling and Epidemiology within the Department of Biology at the University of Oxford. She directs a global modelling consortium and founded Model Health, a consulting firm dedicated to pioneering long-term public health solutions through innovative analytical approaches.
Her research centers on mathematical modelling for health policy, with deep expertise in antimicrobial resistance, global health equity, and infectious disease dynamics. Decades of field experience in Africa and Asia inform her work on malaria elimination and pandemic preparedness, notably contributing to COVID-19 strategies across five continents. She emphasizes capacity development and equitable research practices in resource-limited settings.
Professor White maintains extensive collaborations with major international stakeholders including the WHO, Global Fund, ECDC, UKHSA, and FCDO. She advises health technology organizations such as FIND, Janssen, and GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, and serves on advisory boards for the Malaria Atlas Project and the Australian Centre for Research Excellence in Malaria Elimination.
