Lisa Werkmeister Rozas

Lisa Werkmeister Rozas is a Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. A first-generation Peruvian-American, her research examines coloniality, White Supremacy, and implicit bias effects on intersectional identities. She emphasizes critical consciousness in advocacy and centers Indigenous knowledge in higher education.

Her work includes community-based projects in Peru for organizations supporting homeless children and legislative advocacy with Latinx communities in Connecticut. She co-authored 'Racism in the United States: Implications for the Helping Professions' (3rd ed., 2021), exploring systemic inequities in healthcare and social services.
