Professor Lisa Sundstrom is affiliated with the Department of Political Science at the University of British Columbia and leads the Activists in International Courts network. Her work bridges international relations and comparative politics, with a regional focus on Russia and the former Soviet Union.
Her research explores democratization, gender politics, climate politics, and NGO activism. Recent publications analyze NGO mediation in global governance (2021), gender justice in the ECtHR (2019), and Russian climate policy (2023). She supervises students in topics spanning human rights litigation, authoritarian responsiveness, and transnational civil society.
