Research interests center on implementation science methodologies to strengthen health systems, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). She investigates chronic disease management, integration of HIV and non-communicable disease care, patient-reported outcomes, and equity-driven solutions for healthcare delivery in rural and urban contexts.
Recent publications highlight implementation strategies for global health outcomes, including projects in Nigeria, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Themes include hypertension programs, HIV integration, adaptation of patient-reported measures, health system resilience during pandemics, ECHO training models, and digital health dashboards for shared decision-making in chronic illness management.
Labs and Teams: Dr. Hirschhorn collaborates with multidisciplinary teams across institutions, including the NEST360 alliance for newborn survival, the iCARE Nigeria project, and initiatives within the Robert J.
