Lisa McHugh is Senior Research Fellow at the University of Queensland School of Public Health, specializing in perinatal epidemiology and maternal vaccination programs. Her NHMRC-funded research examines vaccine safety and effectiveness in pregnancy.
Research focuses on vaccination uptake, safety, and effectiveness in pregnant populations, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. Current projects include the VaxiMums program investigating pregnancy loss and respiratory infections.
Publications demonstrate expertise in vaccine epidemiology, health equity, and infectious disease surveillance. Recent work includes studies on COVID-19 spatial epidemiology and maternal pertussis vaccination effectiveness.
