Lisa Laskow Lahey is a Lecturer on Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). She previously served as Associate Director of the Change Leadership Group, a Gates Foundation-funded initiative focused on enhancing leadership capacity in public schools. Additionally, she founded Minds At Work, a consulting firm aiding leaders in corporations, nonprofits, and government. Her work bridges theory and practice in organizational change, professional development, and leadership.
Lahey holds an Ed.D. from Harvard University (1986). Her research emphasizes overcoming resistance to change, effective workplace communication, and strategies for fostering growth in individuals and organizations. She has authored influential books on change leadership and co-authored works on adult development theory.
Her publications include Immunity to Change (2009) and How the Way We Talk Can Change the Way We Work (2001). These works highlight frameworks for addressing systemic barriers to progress and improving interpersonal dynamics. Recent articles on Usable Knowledge explore themes like personal-professional growth trajectories and creating workplaces that prioritize developmental opportunities.
