Lisa Landrum is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Architecture, University of Manitoba, and Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Architectural Science at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD in Architectural History and Theory from McGill University. Her research focuses on the intersection of architecture with drama, ethics, pedagogy, and cultural memory. Landrum has led academic initiatives such as the Canadian Architecture Forums on Education (CAFÉ) and contributed to projects like Unstacking the Deck, celebrating early women architects in Manitoba.
Education: B.Arch (Carleton University, 1995), M.Arch (McGill University, 2003), PhD (McGill University, 2010). Professional qualifications include MAA, FRAIC, and AIA memberships. She served as Associate Dean Research at the University of Manitoba (2017–2023) and is a member of key architectural organizations like AHRA and SAH.
Research interests include architectural agency, theatre-architecture reciprocity, and pedagogical innovation. Her work explores how drama and performance inform architectural practice and theory. Landrum has published widely, including the co-edited volume Theatres of Architectural Imagination (2023). Awards include the Excellence in Graduate Student Mentoring Award (2017) and Students’ Teacher Recognition Awards (2018, 2022).
Leadership roles include President of the Canadian Architecture Certification Board (CACB, 2022–2024) and involvement in initiatives like Rise for Architecture. Her design studios, such as Studio Curio and Studio Theatre, integrate creative experimentation with architectural theory, emphasizing public engagement and transformative urban projects.
