Dr. Lisa Korn is an Instructor of Medicine in the Department of Rheumatology, Allergy & Immunology at Yale School of Medicine. She completed her MD and PhD at the University of Pennsylvania (2015) and joined Yale’s ABIM Physician-Scientist Research Pathway in 2015. Her research focuses on dietary influences on mucosal immunity and gut-immune interactions, particularly in rheumatic diseases like inflammatory arthritis and lupus. Korn’s work bridges clinical practice and basic science, emphasizing evidence-based approaches to diet in treating immune-mediated disorders. She holds the 2024 Iva Dostanic Award, recognizing her contributions to physician-scientist training. Mentored by Dr. Ruslan Medzhitov and others, she is affiliated with the Section of Rheumatology, Allergy & Immunology and collaborates with multiple Yale labs.
- Education: MD/PhD from University of Pennsylvania, Immunology (2013); AB in Molecular Biology from Princeton (2007).
- Research: Investigates gut immune cell regulation, dietary constituents’ impact on immunity, and environmental triggers of rheumatic diseases.
- Awards: 2024 Iva Dostanic Award for Physician-Scientist Excellence.
Her clinical and academic roles include postdoctoral training in Medzhitov’s lab and leadership in Yale’s rheumatology section. Upcoming work explores translational applications of dietary interventions in autoimmune therapies.
