Kofi Mensah is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Rheumatology, Allergy, & Immunology at Yale School of Medicine. He holds appointments in Rheumatology and is affiliated with the ABIM Physician-Scientist Research Pathway. His academic journey includes MD and PhD degrees from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (2011 and 2009, respectively), followed by residencies at Hospital for Special Surgery/Weill Cornell (2013) and Yale University (2015).
His research focuses on bone diseases and immune system regulation, particularly osteoclastogenesis in inflammatory arthritis. He has contributed to peer-reviewed chapters on insufficiency fractures and immunology in orthopaedics. Dr. Mensah is a co-inventor on patents and has been recognized with awards including the Melville A. Hare Award (2009) and membership in Alpha Omega Alpha and Phi Beta Kappa.
He has served on the Executive Council for Yale Internal Medicine Residency Program (2013–2015) and the Board of Directors of the American Physician Scientists Association. His mentorship spans high school to medical students, with involvement in science fairs like the New York City Science and Engineering Fair.
