Lisa Klotz

Lisa Klotz is an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Davis, where she teaches Legal Reasoning and Writing to undergraduates. She has also taught legal writing to law students at the UNC School of Law and UC Davis School of Law, and worked as a prosecutor in California and Guam, followed by civil litigation defense in Guam and Los Angeles.

• Education: J.D. from University of San Diego School of Law, Ph.D. in English from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Her scholarship explores intersections between law and literature in early modern England, alongside legal writing pedagogy, which she presents at national and international conferences.

Notably, she received the 2020 Academic Federation Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award at UC Davis. Her teaching areas include Civil Dispute Resolution, Criminal Law: Statutory Interpretation, and Torts: The Common Law Process.
