Lisa Jordan is a Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Environmental Law Clinic at Tulane Law School, appointed in 2017. With over 20 years of experience at the Clinic, she supervises students representing communities impacted by industrial pollution and governmental barriers, particularly in Louisiana’s Cancer Alley and the Atchafalaya Basin. She served as Acting Director from 1999–2000.
- Education: BS (1985, Louisiana State University), JD (1990, Loyola University New Orleans), LLM in Energy & Environment (1991, Tulane University, with distinction)
- Prior Role: Assistant District Attorney in Orleans Parish
Her work focuses on environmental justice, community advocacy, and natural resources law. She led the opposition to Shintech Corporation’s polyvinyl chloride plant in Convent, Louisiana, earning national recognition. The Clinic’s efforts highlight legal disparities faced by marginalized communities.
