Dr. Lisa Hodge is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology & Anatomy at the University of North Texas Health Science Center's College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences. She holds a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology (UNT Health Science Center) and a BS in Microbiology (University of Texas at Arlington).
Her research focuses on the effects of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies on the lymphatic and immune systems, particularly their role in diseases like pneumonia, inflammatory bowel disease, cancer, and edema. Key projects include investigating osteopathic manipulation's impact on lymphatic drainage and immune function, funded by organizations such as the American Osteopathic Association and American Academy of Osteopathy.
Research interests span CAM mechanisms, lymphatic pump techniques, and their applications in treating inflammation and cancer metastasis. Over 25 peer-reviewed publications and 13 sponsored projects reflect her contributions to understanding CAM's biological foundations.
