Harlan Jones

Harlan Jones, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Genetics at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC), part of the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences. He leads the Jones Research Laboratory, focusing on neuroendocrine-immune-microbial interactions in diseases affecting underrepresented populations. Dr. Jones also directs the Center for Diversity and International Programs at UNTHSC, promoting biomedical workforce diversity through initiatives like the NRMN Professional Development Program and STAR grant coaching.

• PhD in Biomedical Science, UNT Health Science Center

Research Interests: Dr. Jones investigates mechanisms linking stress, neuroendocrine factors, and immune responses in diseases like cancer, pneumococcal pneumonia, and asthma. His work emphasizes health disparities, particularly among minority groups, and explores 'bacterio-mimetic' nanoparticles for targeted cancer therapies. Key areas include:
