Lisa Evans

Professor Lisa Evans is a faculty member in the Accounting & Finance department at the University of Stirling. She holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Reading and a MA Joint Honours in English Language and German from the University of Edinburgh. Previously, she worked at Napier University (1993-1999) and the University of Edinburgh (1999-2006 as lecturer, 2003-2006 as senior lecturer).

  • Co-editor and editor of Accounting in Europe (2004-2010)
  • Member of editorial advisory boards for multiple journals
• Leadership in research governance:
  • Member (2007-2019) and Deputy Convener (2017-2019) of ICAS Research Committee
  • Chair of European Accounting Association's SME working group

Her research focuses on international accounting/audit regulation and accounting history, particularly:

• Impact of language translation on accounting research and regulation
• Development of accounting professions in the UK and Germany
• 19th-century Scottish accounting and its social context
• Language change in accounting
• History of accounting regulation and international harmonization
• Intersections between accounting, law, and literature
